The US State Department expressed concern for an aggression
faced Friday by US Ambassador in Caracas William Browfield.
A group of pro-government protesters attacked the diplomat
with eggs and tomatoes when he was visiting a sports facility
in Coche, southwest Caracas, where he was scheduled to make
a donation for a junior baseball team sponsored by the Baltimore
Orioles team.
According to US embassy in Caracas, Brian Penn, the demonstrators
rejected Brownfield's presence and impeded him to leave for
half an hour, news agency Efe reported.
