The change in the required course of study is meant to instill
into students "the true values of a society, the concept of
socialism," said Wednesday Minister of Education Adán
Chávez.
As stated by Chávez in "En Confianza," a morning show
aired on official TV channel Venezolana de Televisión
(VTV), there is not need to fear the syllabus reform.
"It is not that we are going to inject communism into children
since they are born. It is just including in the required
course of study, from primary education through the university
level, the true values of a society, to educate on what socialism
is," he explained, as quoted by official Agencia Bolivariana
de Noticias (ABN).
In his opinion, the reform is urgent because education should
fit into the new domestic state of affairs.
